Night time at the Santa Cruz Town Clock

As November kicks off and we move into the holiday season, there are an abundance of events popping up across the county—although Santa Cruz is always the center of all the activity. Whether its the holiday spirit or simply everyone looking forward to the end of the year—finally!—there’s something going on almost every day of the week.

From dances to wine tasting, here are just a few of the exciting events happening this weekend in Santa Cruz November 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2023.

Downtown Santa Cruz Fall Wine Walk

121 Soquel Avenue, Santa Cruz

For wine enthusiasts (age 21 and over, of course), Santa Cruz is hosting a wine tasting event on November 12 in the downtown area. With over 10 featured wineries, participants are invited to sample a wide selection of wines while enjoying the city’s ambiance. Most who take part in this event take the opportunity to stop at local shops and businesses along the way, and plan a dinner afterwards.

Scheduled for 2:00pm to 5:00pm, sign-up for this event includes a wine glass and map of the tasting locations. All ticket holders must first check-in at 121 Soquel Avenue before starting. The event coordinators remind all participants that all wine must be consumed at the designated tasting locations and cannot be taken with you to the next. More information regarding online ticket purchasing and day-of ticketing can be found here

Downtown Santa Cruz Antique Faire & Goat Hill Fair

For those who love a good vintage find, there are two antiques fairs around Santa Cruz County happening this weekend.

The Downtown Santa Cruz Antique Faire is a recurring event, happening every second Sunday of the month. Located on Lincoln Street (between Pacific Avenue and Cedar Street), this all-day event draws in those who see the beauty of well-loved pieces: from small trinkets to vintage furniture. More information about the fair can be found here.

Additionally, The Goat Hill Fair is being hosted November 10th and 11th at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds—just north of Watsonville. This exciting event brings together hundreds of vendors showcasing heritage and handmade goods. More information about The Goat Hill Fair, including a list of vendors and frequently asked questions, can be found here.

Apple Picking & The Apple-Palooza

There are a number of farms across the county that offer fresh produce. As the temperatures start to cool off (or perhaps that’s wishful thinking!), this weekend marks the perfect weather for apple picking.

Gizdich Ranch, which is located at 55 Peckham Road in Watsonville, typically hosts their “U Pick Apples” event in the autumn—and is fun for the whole family! While this is now closed for the season because of weather, the farm remains open for visitors to purchase antiques, as well as apple juice, jams, and their famous pies. Visit their website here.

On November 11th, Farm Discovery at Live Earth Farm is hosting “Apple-Palooza.” This sustainable, non-profit organization is located at 172 Litchfield Lane in Watsonville. Another family-friendly fall event, Apple-Palooza involves a tour of the farm, a hands-on look into the creation of apple cider, and a chance to meet some farm animals. More information about this event can be found here.

Other Santa Cruz Events

As mentioned, there’s always something going on in Santa Cruz—and many of the events happen monthly or annually. There are a number of weekend Farmers Markets being held during November, including ones in Watsonville, Scotts Valley, Aptos, and the Westside.

When it comes to the arts, the students at UC Santa Cruz are always involved in something exciting. Beginning this weekend, the Department of Performance, Play & Design is debuting their performance of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. More information about the play can be found here. The Music Department is also hosting Barn Dance at the Barn on November 12th, which has ive music. More information can be found here.
