Field of wildflowers and Santa Cruz mountains in background

The city of Scotts Valley, California is known for its excellent location; the perfect option for commuting professionals (either south to Santa Cruz or north to Silicon Valley) and families. Scotts Valley neighborhoods tend to preserve the beautiful, natural features of the area, and as a result offer homebuyers a slice of the forest lifestyle.

There are a number of Scotts Valley communities to choose from—but which one is best for you? We outline five of Scotts Valley’s most exclusive neighborhoods below.

Granite Creek Estates

Looking for luxury? Your search ends here. Granite Creek Estates are found at the end of Granite Creek Road, east of Scotts Valley Drive. This quiet neighborhood is home to sprawling houses on the area’s hillside, on generously-sized lots: about a half acre each.

Featuring a range of architectural styles (from stone cottages to bold, Mediterranean-style homes), Granite Creek Estates is defined by luxury and sophistication. Homes have expert landscaping, long driveways, ample square footage, and, most importantly, privacy.

Glenwood Estates

Located next to the Glenwood Open Space Preserve, Glenwood Estates offers residents a welcoming, suburban neighborhood feeling. This exclusive community is home to a small selection of properties, categorized by generous square footage, pristine, traditional style exteriors, and backyard space—perfect for entertaining.

Glenwood Estates is a popular neighborhood for families, not only for its safe and peaceful streets (that the kids play on), but also because of its excellent location near a number of schools; Scotts Valley High School is a block away.

Rolling Woods Estates

Tranquil forest homes, just minutes from the center of Scotts Valley. Rolling Woods Estates is located off of Graham Hill Road, across from Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Here, you’ll find charming bungalows (primarily) and multi-story homes on the neighborhood’s small hill. Although typically older builds, these properties are well-maintained and many have been updated, some of which even include alternative energy sources such as solar panels.

Rolling Woods Estates appeals to many, but particularly families, for it is a peaceful area with welcoming neighbors. Although it feels like a rural escape with its mature trees, it is located near schools and outdoor recreation opportunities.
