Explore San Lorenzo Valley, CA Homes For Sale

For those seeking real estate off-the-beaten-path, consider houses in San Lorenzo Valley, CA. This area comprises a collection of small communities, including Ben Lomond, Boulder Creek, Brookdale, and Felton, that are known for their tranquil, semi-rural atmosphere. For homebuyers seeking a cozy cottage (that's still a reasonable distance away from amenities) or a large scenic property, San Lorenzo Valley is a great place to settle down.

The San Lorenzo real estate market is more diverse than one might think. Made up of single-family homes and cottages as well as multi-residential properties, prospective buyers include families, retirees, and investors. As home prices continue to increase in Santa Cruz and the surrounding area, many choose to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a more tranquil way of life.  Homes for sale in San Lorenzo Valley are a great option for growing families in particular, as there is a larger inventory of single-family homes—which feature open floor plans and plenty of space for kids to play.

One of the most desirable characteristics of homes in the San Lorenzo Valley (beyond their charm and character) are the substantial lots they sit on. More specifically, a significant portion of the area is covered in centuries-old redwood groves. This means that houses are close by to some of the best outdoor recreation around, alongside the obvious curb appeal and additional privacy this provides.

While luxury homes are a popular choice, there are some more economic options available on the San Lorenzo Valley market. Specifically, Boulder Creek is recognized for its historic cabins. Though small in square footage, these properties make up for this in lot size and location, and they have often been well-maintained by their owners (though a few updates may be required). Though perhaps not the best options for families, these make for exceptional vacation homes, and prices can begin in the 500,000s. San Lorenzo Valley is a popular place for tourism, and subsequently, homebuyers find themselves investing in these affordable properties as income generators.

On the high end of the market are one-of-a-kind estate properties. Usually custom, these luxury homes for sale are built in a range of architectural styles, from Geodesic to European chateaus.
