On Saturday, October 4th, come take part in the Santa Cruz Wharf Centennial Celebration. The event festivities will include a fireworks show, live music, face painting, bocce, photo booths, pop up museums and much more. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as they take in the historical reenactment of the 1914 opening day procession, which will include the Santa Cruz High School leading antique cars, costumed characters, musicians and local legends on the Wharf. The Wharf's restaurants will also be offering 100 year celebration specials throughout the day! This family friendly, community event takes place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a fireworks show beginning at 9:00 pm.

On July 23rd in 1973 a handful of locals got together for the first race and since then the event has grown dramatically. Today the Wharf to Wharf race has gained critical acclaim as being the one of the ‘Best Little Road Races in California’. Every summer on the fourth Sunday of July, thousands of runners and spectators alike come to Santa Cruz for the annual six-mile (or 10K) race, dubbed ‘Capitola-by-the-Sea’.
