The gorgeous neighborhood of Seabright in central Santa Cruz is often cited as the best neighborhood in the city for it's vibrant atmosphere, laid back vibes and multiple trendy shops, restaurants and bars in the area.

Bordered on the west by the San Lorenzo River and on the east by the Woods Lagoon, Seabright residents even have their own private beach! Seabright Beach spans a half mile long on the neighborhoods south end and is home to the ever popular Walton Lighthouse.

In this blog post, we'll be taking a dive into just what makes Seabright such a special community to live in. Read on to find out more!

Seabright Beach

As mentioned above, Seabright Beach is one of the major draws to life in this picturesque neighborhood. Living just minutes away from the beach means many residents of Seabright can pretty much step out of their homes and right onto the sand!

This half mile beach has everything residents could want —swimming, surfing, and even a dog friendly area and public washrooms.

Seabright Beach also offers incredible views of the Walton Lighthouse and of course, the gorgeous waters of the Santa Cruz Anchorage.

Foodies Rejoice!

Seabright is known for having some of the finest restaurants in the area, with plenty of exciting options for local fare of all kinds! Many restaurants are located on the northern end of the neighborhood, along Soquel Avenue that borders Seabright from East Side.

Murray Street and Seabright Avenue hold plenty of restaurants for residents as well — and since its just minutes away from the beach, Seabright folks love heading to that corner to grab some grub before, during or after their beach day.

Santa Cruz Museum Of National History

Gorgeous beaches and incredible food aren't all Seabright has to offer! Head to the Santa Cruz Museum of National History to learn more about the exciting history of the area.

Known to locals as the Whale Museum due to the large model of a whale outside the entrance, the Santa Cruz Museum of National History is one of the oldest museums in California, having been erected in 1905, with collections that have only grown since then.
