The small town can be found right along Highway 9 and straddling the shores of the San Lorenzo River.

The interiors of these home often display a pleasing yet sparse design aesthetic and plenty of natural materials. Jewel Box

Jewel Box is a wonderfully positioned seaside neighborhood in Capitola. Interested home buyers will find this charming enclave just west of the wharf and Soquel Creek. It’s not an understatement to call it one of the most desirable neighborhoods of either Capitola or neighboring Santa Cruz.

As far as available real estate, Jewel Box features mainly cozy, single-family bungalows, but there is some diversity. Along Opal Street where the neighborhood began still stands a number of more mature homes from before the second world war.

The naming convention of Jewel Box represents its esteem well. The original street is Opal, with newer streets added as the neighborhood grew - Crystal, Diamond, Emerald, Garnet, Jade, and so on. When it comes to beach access, it doesn’t get much better. Capitola Beach and the pier are both right there, an easy walk from most homes in the neighborhood.
