Fishing and boat rentals are available at the Capitola Wharf. The New Brighton State Beach, located next to Seacliff Beach is also a popular spot for day trips. The park offers miles of expansive beaches, camping, picnic areas, and forest of Monterey Pines and Coastal Live Oaks.

The Capitola Theater for the Performing Arts provides a local venue for concerts, dance, opera and film.

The Capitola Mall is the largest shopping mall in the area, and features dozens of large chain shops and restaurants.
